TEP-OK-01 Roofs
Low-slope bituminous roof options
A request for a bituminous roofing quotation starts with the whole roof build-up. The name of the cap sheet alone does not define a suitable solution or the scope of work.

Options for the complete roof build-up and information for preparing your project.
TEP-OK-01 Roofs
A request for a bituminous roofing quotation starts with the whole roof build-up. The name of the cap sheet alone does not define a suitable solution or the scope of work.
TEP-OK-02 Roofs
Mineral wool, PIR, EPS and expanded clay serve different roof build-ups. Compare the whole roof assembly, rather than insulation board prices alone.
TEP-OK-03 Roofs
The load-bearing structure, the substrate for the vapour control layer and the substrate for the waterproofing are different things. Establish their compatibility before selecting materials and installation methods.
TEP-OK-04 Roofs
The extent of refurbishment is selected on the basis of an assessed condition. Record the existing build-up, the cause of damage and the intended new build-up separately.
TEP-OK-05 Roofs
Drainage, penetrations and edge junctions are essential to roof performance. They form part of the same design as the waterproofing itself.
TEP-OK-06 Project requirements
Fire classification and special requirements are design inputs. An individual selection in the project planner does not approve a product or a combination of layers for the project.
TEP-OK-07 Podium decks
Podium deck waterproofing is usually covered by the surface build-up. Establish the intended use, loads, drainage and inspections before installing the covering layers.
TEP-OK-08 Foundation waterproofing
Foundation protection is selected according to ground conditions, water exposure and the use of spaces below ground. Waterproofing and the surrounding drainage work together.
TEP-OK-09 Roofs
PVC roofing is one waterproofing option for a low-slope roof. Specify it as a complete system, including fixing, junctions and the underlying layers.
More detail on thermal insulation and vapour control options for different structural decks.
TEP-MK-01 Roofs
Here, a mineral wool substrate means the roof insulation beneath the waterproofing. It is distinct from the load-bearing metal, concrete or timber structure. The function and position of the board determine the product required.
TEP-MK-02 Roofs
PIR is a rigid thermal insulation whose low thermal conductivity can reduce the required build-up thickness. Select the insulation facing and the waterproofing above it as a compatible combination.
TEP-MK-03 Roofs
Expanded clay can provide thermal insulation and form roof falls. It generally forms a ventilated layer. The load-bearing structure, vapour control layer and actual waterproofing substrate are specified separately.
TEP-MK-04 Roofs
Profiled metal decking alone does not determine the vapour control layer. First establish the surface on which it will be installed and the loads and exposure it will face during construction and use.
TEP-MK-05 Roofs
On a concrete roof deck, the slab type, surface and moisture condition, and ventilation of the build-up above affect vapour control selection. A concrete surface alone does not establish airtightness at junctions.
TEP-MK-06 Roofs
A timber substrate may mean a structural timber board or a ventilated trussed roof. Vapour control position and installation differ between these, so timber alone does not identify the solution.

The construction drawings and details in this library are general examples, not project-specific construction plans. The project’s structural designer is always responsible for checking their suitability and adapting them to the project’s structures, loads and applicable requirements. These resources must not be used for construction without project-specific design and approval.
